Inspired by Mariano Fortuny’s fusion of artistry and innovation, this piece explores the dialogue between texture, light, and movement. The silk was hand-painted and then pleated, allowing color and form to shift organically — capturing the fluidity and timeless elegance of Fortuny’s legacy in a contemporary expression.

The fabric was hand-dyed using layered pigment applications to achieve depth and tonal variation. Each stage involved controlled immersion and brushwork, allowing the color to flow naturally across the silk. The process embraced irregularity and chance, resulting in a surface that feels both organic and intentional — a modern interpretation of Fortuny’s painterly approach to textiles.
